Torque Converter Clutch Error
The ECM monitors the operation of the Torque Converter Clutch. Code 39 will set when the Torque Converter Clutch operation does not meet factory specifications.
Fault Code Description
- 39 - Torque Converter Clutch error
Symptoms
- Slight increase in engine RPM at freeway speeds
Common Problems
- Faulty Torque Converter Clutch solenoid
- Failed Torque Converter or damaged seal
Clutch Switch Circuit Error
On vehicles with manual transmissions, the ECM monitors the position of the clutch pedal.
Fault Code Description
- 39 - Clutch switch circuit error
Symptoms
- Engine may not start
Common Problems
- Faulty Clutch Pedal Position switch
