Question Asked: Why is there a lot of road noise(underneath car)when we drive it on the highway?
January 12, 2013, 12:34 PM
Doesn't really happen in the city (stop and go traffic) but on the freeway and long country roads. Sounds like rocks or debrie is being kicked up.

Question Asked: moonroof opens
February 21, 2011, 12:45 PM
I took the car in for a recall (summer 2010). They did they did a moonroof recall also. We had not had any problem with the moonroof. After the moonroof recall it begin to open up any time it wanted to. Happens about once a month now and the switch remains on closed but it is open. Can't trust it anymore could open up in the rain or a thief could get in and steal valuables we may have. I talked to the dealership but they said I had to have it diagnosed and would cost me at least $100. They will refund me the money if it is their fault. What should I be prepared to say if they say it is not their fault.
Question Asked: the whole Headlight assemby will not fit flush in the car
February 08, 2010, 03:59 PM
Sorry that I did not make myself more clear. We did change the headlight bulb no problem. The problem is fitting the whole headlight assembly back into the car. We cannot get the lever that is inside the car that releases the headlight to go all the way down and therefore the whole assembly does not fit flush into the car anymore. Any suggestions on what to do?

Question Asked: can't get headlight back in
February 08, 2010, 02:21 PM
We've changed the headlight in the volkswagen but are having problems putting it back in. There is a gap between the car and the headlight. The lever needs about a fourth of an inch to go all the way down. We've lubricated the tracks and guides. Any suggestions? Sorry that I did not make myself more clear. We did change the headlight no problem. The problem is fitting the whole headlight assembly back into the car. We cannot get the lever that is inside the car to go all the way down and therefore the whole assembly does not fit flush into the car anymore.

Can I replace the front headlight or do I have to take it to a dealership? How much does it cost? Does the low beam use a different bulb than a high beam? What size bulb is needed?

Question Asked: Dent on panel under passenger door.
September 06, 2009, 10:11 PM
In a parking lot I got to close to a curb and dented the panel under the passenger door. I was not driving fast but began to turn to early and the curb scraped the panel under the passenger door ( do not talk on cell phones while driving). How much will this repair cost? Is the dealership the best place to take it or are there other places? Will this affect the car?
Question Asked: Strange noise like chirping birds in the engine
May 07, 2009, 10:34 AM
When I stop to mail letters and I leave the engine running I hear a chirping sound like little birds in a nest coming from the engine? Is this the sign of a serious problem?
Question Answered: quits running
February 21, 2009, 10:44 PM
This happened to me yesterday (2003 turbo vw beetle), the car would start and then immediately turn off. Last fall I had the battery replaced so I knew it could not be the battery. I had it towed to a vw dealership and they said that the computer locked out and so they had to reboot the computer. I asked them what caused this but they said they did not know. Cost $105 for this repair.
