Question Asked: engine dies 3.1 V-6

Every once in awhile driving down the the engine dies. I put the car in nuetral turn the key off, wait 10 to 15 seconds, vehicle restarts immediately. It may not do again for a week or it may do it the next day. No check engine light. Nobody seems to be able to figure it out. HELP PLEASE

YOU BENT VALVES!!!!!!!! It is an interference engine. you do not rotate the engine unless you have the crank to cam in proper sequence.

Just go to a Advance Auto parts store or an Autozone parts store and get the codes read free. DO NOT LET THEM SELL YOU PARTS YOU DO NOT NEED. JUST GET THE P0000 code numbers and post them on repairpal. I would assume that you have already resolved the problem by now.

Customer Concern: The speedometer is inoperative. Other gauges OK.
Tests/Procedures: 1. Check that the odometer works.
2. If so, send the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) in for repair or replace the IPC.
3. NOTE: A new IPC must be programmed.
4. If the odometer is inoperative also, check IPC data for MPH.
