Question Asked: Sub-frame rotted & CV joint fell out after recall work.Is it repairable?
August 07, 2011, 11:00 AM
Dealer says since they sprayed the frame during the recall, they are not responsible for subframe corrrosion, CV joint fell out, tie-bars broke, new tire destroyed etc. Any suggestions? If we replace the subframe and do the other repairs, will that be considered a safe repair? What should it cost? thanks
Question Asked: 2 or 4 wheel alignment

This site allows me to check the cost of a 4 wheel alignment. Can/should that be done on my Santa Fe (which is out of alignment)? I've only ever heard of a front end alignment.

Definitely the purge control valve. Very easy to replace yourself.
Question Answered: location of the purge valve

I'll answer even though this is an old question. I replaced my purge control valve on 2003 Santa Fe. Disconnect the battery. Remove the plastic engine cover. The valve is against the rear wall about 12" to the left of center. Disconnect the electrical connection and the hose on the left. The hose on the right may be difficult to access where it meets the valve, so you can disconnect that hose at it's other end about 8" to the right. Use that hose to pull the valve out of it's location. Install the new valve onto that hose and use the hose as a handle to get the new valve back into position. You can then re-connect the electrical and the hose on the left. Took me one hour, an amateur.
Question Answered: Reason for Air Bag light to stay on

Your owner's manual describes how the seat belts are related to the air bags, but it's not the buckle from what I can see. It's the tension mechanism where the seat belt pulls out from. Keep looking for a better answer before paying them!!! I'm having the same problem right now and it's also on the Hyundai Santa Fe.
