GM OBD Trouble Code 87
EEPROM error (flash memory error)
If the ECM detects an internal fault with the EEPROM code 87 will set. The EEPROM is a special "chip" that is installed in the ECM, based on the particular vehicle configuration.
Fault Code Description
- 87 - EEPROM error (flash memory error)
Symptoms
- Engine may not start
- Poor engine performance
