Ford Focus Problems

Warped Front Brake Rotors Can Cause Steering Wheel Shimmy

Warped front brake rotors may cause the steering wheel to shimmy when the brakes are applied. Our technicians tell us the brake rotors and pads should  be replaced to correct this concern.

Rear Bearings Corosion Due to Heavy Winters

In areas of high corrosion rear wheel bearings tend to fail. Ford agreed to replace these failed bearings at no cost. This program was to expire on December 31, 2002. Our technicians tell us it is unlikely Ford will replace any more of these failed bearings free of charge.

Engine Hesitates Or Stalls

Wiring splices to the manifold absolute pressure sensor may be faulty and provide improper signals to the engine's processor. This can cause an engine stall or hesitation. Dealers will replace the current crimped splices with new splices free of charge to resolve the concern.

Engine Continues To Run When Set To Off

The engine may not shut off as desired when turning the key to off, or the on off button to off if equipped with that option. Dealers will update the body control module software free of charge to resolve the concern.

Vehicle Stalls From Fuel Pressure Loss

The fuel delivery module may crack, resulting in lower than needed fuel pressure. This can cause the engine to stall. Dealers will replace the fuel delivery module free of charge to resolve the concern.

My car stop while sitting waiting for a train to pass i pushed in the lighter wated for it to pop out then the car made a thump and quit. Now the dash light up when you turn the ignition key on but it want do anything what should i do or check?
Overall the car is great. I'm less than pleased with the Flexfuel mapping. My 2012 ran extremely well and was not a flexfuel. 2014 engine reminds me of my '84' Wellcraft with the old Chevy "Iron Duke" 4 cylinder engine. I will most likely get a new one (2016?) when SYNC 3 is the tech.
Buy any other car and you'll probably get something better! Recently traded my 2013 Focus for a Toyota after the Focus (at only 39,000 miles) decided it would occasionally stall and not restart. Two Ford dealers couldn't fix the problem, let alone figure out what was wrong. Besides that, the car suffered from rattles, noises in the front end, trim and molding coming loose. I thought I would...
