In both standard and optional engines, the Chevrolet Malibu comes up short when compared to the Toyota Camry. The Malibu’s 160 standard horsepower is well behind the Camry’s standard 203 horsepower. The Malibu’s optional 250-horsepower engine also loses when matched up with the Camry’s powerful 301-horsepower top engine. For green-minded consumers, both the Malibu and the Camry offer a fuel-saving hybrid version.
