The Kia Sorento and the Kia Sportage are two different sizes of SUVs. The Sorento is a midsize, three-row SUV, and the Sportage is a compact, two-row SUV. The choice between these comes down to how much car you need, and how much you want to pay for it. Bigger may be better, but it usually costs more.
There are some similarities between these two Kias. Both come with standard front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive. The Sorento’s standard engine has 185 horsepower, while the Sportage’s has 181. But there are also some major differences.
The Sorento offers an optional engine with 290 horsepower, but the optional engine in the Sportage has just 240 horsepower. This is not a deal-breaker, though, because the Sportage is a smaller vehicle.
The difference in cargo space between the Kia Sorento and the Kia Sportage is a major one. The Sorento gives you 73 cubic feet of space when the second and third rows folded. The Sportage has 60.1 cubic feet behind its front row, because it’s a smaller vehicle than the Sorento. No surprise there.
If you need a larger SUV with room for up to seven, the Sorento is a good choice. If a smaller SUV will fit your needs, go with the Sportage.
