James Bond Drives The Most Famous Car on Earth

November 24, 2008

With the release of the James Bond flick “Quantum of Solace” this month, the latest Bond vehicle of choice was revealed:  the 2008 Aston Martin DBS 2-door coupe.  Apparently, the franchise started out with the Connery and Moore Bond driving British cars, but by the 1990s, the Brosnan Bond drove a BMW.  Well, now the British car fleet is back.

If you’re interested in scooping one of these Bond cars up, the 2008 Aston Martin DBS will set you back a mere $265,000.  However, you’ll get a racing vehicle with a 510 horsepower, V12, 6.0L engine which will take you from 0 – 60 in just 4.3 seconds.

According to the Aston Martin website, the 2008 DBS comes with features such as an umbrella, personalized sill plaques (I have no idea what this is), ashtray and cigar lighter, and organic electroluminescent (OEL) displays (to reduce the carbon footprint of the 11.7MPG rating perhaps?).  I was disappointed to see that LATCH child restraints nor cup holders (for my Skinny Decaf Vanilla Grande Latte) are not included as standard equipment.  Perhaps we’ll see more family friendly features in the next Bond installment, perhaps not.
