Great Car-Related Gift Ideas for Pet Lovers

Did you know that Americans spend $41 billion per year on their pets? That’s more than the GDP of all but 64 countries in the world. We spend more on our pets than we spend on movies, video games, and recorded music combined. And get this—half of all dog owners take their pet into consideration when buying a car!

There’s no doubt we love our pets. When buying Christmas presents for the animal lovers—including yourself—in your life, consider these car-related gifts:

Hammock Seat Cover
If you love your dog, but don’t love dog hair and muddy paw prints all over your seats, check out the Sta-Put Waterproof Hammock Seat Cover. The material is perfect, has a nice, neutral color, and is machine washable. It attaches to the headrests on both the back and front seats, so everything is protected.

Hatchbag Cargo Liner
If you want a little more coverage than a seat cover provides and you have a minivan, SUV, or station wagon, consider purchasing this complete cargo liner for the rear of your vehicle. With self-fastening hooks and loop straps, you don’t need any tools to install it and the waterproof vinyl-coated material is easily cleaned with a cloth. Also good for protecting your car’s upholstery when hauling firewood, gear, and tools.

Pet License Plate Frame Holders and Bumper Stickers
Whenever I go to my car and see my favorite soccer team (Tottenham Hotspurs) license plate frame, I get a little thrill. If you want that thrill, or want to show everyone just how much you love your Corgi or Pug or Siamese, consider buying some license plate frames or bumper stickers. There are too many retailers to list here, but I really love this one.

Malibu Dream Car Shape Dog/Cat Pet Bed
Granted, this is kind of ridiculous, but it’s kind of fun, too. You can make car lovers and their daughters happy with this pet bed designed to mimic Barbie’s Malibu Dream Car. Apparently, it’s pretty well made and all pets that were interviewed claim they love it. The only complaint I found was that it doesn’t have a steering wheel. If the pink Barbie thing isn’t really your bag, you can also get a red race car pet bed.

Personalized Dog Breed Car Mats
Who wouldn’t love to see Fluffy’s precious face every time you put your pedal to the metal? Be reminded of your best friend and protect your car’s interior with a set of these floor mats. All you have to do is choose your dog’s breed from the list and let them know your dog’s name and voila! Just don’t expect to have Lord Chumley Wentworth Puppyington III on the mats; they only go up to ten characters.

This is just a tiny glimpse into all of the gifts you can buy for the car and pet lovers in your life. You might also consider ramps for older dogs, seat belts, and padded puppy seats designed so your dog can look out the window comfortably and safely. Sure, the world's gone to the dogs, but at least it's in time for Christmas!
