Honda Accord Hybrid Problems

The 2006 and 2007 Honda Accord Hybrid has brake caliper issues, which are known for causing vibration and grinding noises at all times.
The brake rotor is a disk that sits between two brake pads. The brake pads are squeezed against the disk by what is called a brake caliper. When that caliper gets stuck, the brake pads are permanently pressed against the rotor causing:
The repair for a seized brake caliper, the brake pads, brake rotor, and brake caliper must be replaced or vibration will remain after the new caliper is installed. Changing the brake fluid and flushing the brake system according to manufacturer specified intervals can help improve longevity of the brake caliper.
The ABS modulator (hydraulic unit) can leak air into the brake system and cause a low brake pedal. A new ABS modulator will be needed if it is diagnosed to be the source of the leak.
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) can misinterpret data from the coolant temperature sensor and set a false Check Engine (MIL) light. The PCM will need a software update for this issue.
Honda issued a recall on some 2005 Accord Hybrid models due to a defective fuel pump relay. If the fuel pump relay fails, the car will stall or fail to start. For more information on this recall please click here»
On some models a mis-manufactured AC evaporator core can cause the AC to cool poorly. The AC evaporator needs to be replaced for the AC to cool properly.
The front brake rotors can warp and cause a vibration when braking. The rotors will need to be machined or in cases where they are worn to thin, replaced to correct this issue.
Front compliance (lower control arm ) bushings tend to crack and break requiring replacement.
Plugged moon roof drains can cause a water leak inside the car. The water will usually leak onto the driver's or passenger's head when the car turns a corner.
Some models have shift quality problems when shifting into third gear. A new "third gear set" from Honda will address this issue.
