2005 Kia SpectraVisitor, Bellevue, WA, January 15, 2014 13:37I have a 2005 Spectra Bought brand new and it now has 310,400 miles on it. Same engine and transmission. Timing belts done every 80k water pump done once and oil changes every 4k, I have gotten my money worth from this car that at the time I thought it was going to be just another throw away car later down the road but I keep saying to myself when it dies I'll get a new one. It still runs really well in fact almost to well and I think I'm going to have to just go buy myself a new car because I don't think its ever going to die. I've been really impressed at how well this car has held up. I sure wish they had continued to make these cars, I would go out and buy another.
2005 Kia SpectraVisitor, Fayetteville, NC, November 24, 2013 06:37I bought the 2005 Spectra in March of that year, it was my second KIA...it is still going strong and has moved me several times towing trailers as large as a trailer used to haul a backhoe. I have changed the transmission oil once, oil and filter ever 6000 miles and I spray used oil on the under body, on the paint all parts liable to rust under the hood and behind both bumpers. put 20,000 km on a year average and have no complaints. I took it in to the dealer for new gas tank straps and that is about all..brakes, tires, oil changes. When I move from this Country of Canada I will give it to one of my kids who I am sure will have a great second car which will last for years.
2005 Kia SpectraVisitor, Port Saint Lucie, FL, January 18, 2013 09:21I bought this little car to commute in when I moved. I commute 45 miles each way to work ..90 miles a day ...3 or 4 times a week...since 2005! This car is the best little car Ive ever bought. Face it...I'm 58 years old and Ive had a few cars. I now have 264,000 plus miles on my 2005 Spectra 2005 and I am totally delighted. NOTE: I did get regular oil changes and new tires and brakes on time. At tax refund time, I go each year and get the extras and this car has not failed me. I still love it. Its starting to look a bit old now but I am still taking good care of it and it is lasting better than I ever thought.
2005 Kia SpectraVisitor, Moultrie, GA, December 05, 2012 18:07I BOUGHT MY CAR NEW WITH 5 MILES ON IT (2005 KIA SPECTRA) IT HAS BEEN DOING PRETTY GOOD NO COMPLAINTS MUCH GOOD MPH ETC. BUT THE PAINT JOB IS VERY BAD IT IS PEELING OFF AT THE HANDLES,THE WHOLE BACK BUMPER ETC I AM TRYING TO SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO ABOUT THAT
2005 Kia Spectrabmarcus220, Takoma Park, MD, January 02, 2009 08:38We bought this car to replace a used 1992 Camry so almost anything remotely new was a wonderful change but I'm happy to say this little car has done a great job at serving its purpose. Good gas mileage (at least 28 mpg no matter city or highway), great warranty and zippy for a 2.0 L 4 cylinder engine. I gave mostly 3s and a few 4s because this car is a solid average car but is better than most cars in the same class. Kia has come a long way, especially in the US, and I'm sure we'll see better and better cars from them as time moves on.Enthusiast
2005 Kia Spectrajammoral, San Antonio, TX, August 26, 2008 16:57pickup is great for a little sedan, replaced brakes and get all kinds of noise now, might need oem parts, suspension is soft but for the price and style not bad, milage is great, other 2 cars are a mazada and a nissan they have had more problems them the KIAEnthusiast
