2007 Kia Spectra Repair and Maintenance
A guide to problems, costs, maintenance and repair for your 2007 Kia Spectra
2007 Kia Spectra Problems
A defective AC compressor clutch assembly can cause excessive noise or vibration when the air conditioning is on. Improved parts are available. Replacing the faulty clutch assembly does not necessitate replacement of the complete AC compressor or evacuation and recharging of the air conditioning system.
Reprogramming the transmission control module with the latest Kia transmission software may fix abnormalities in the automatic transmission and erroneous transmission-related Check Engine Light illumination. Software updates are commonly most effective on newer vehicles. Higher mileage vehicles may exhibit a similar symptom caused by a component failure. However, whenever major transmission repairs are performed the transmission software should be checked and updated as necessary.
Make sure the transmission is filled with Kia-approved transmission fluid and at the correct level. Our technicians tell using incorrect transmission fluid or operating the transmission when it is low on fluid can result in internal transmission damage.
2007 Kia Spectra Questions
It is very annoying, doesnt madder if I hit the lock button on the door or on the remote it makes a very loud buzzing/grinding noise.
Where do I find the clutch assembly and will this clutch assembly fix the problem?
Lost power in for my fob, dome lights, radio, dash clock and TPMS system. Door locks only work with key on. No fuses blown. Problem occurred over night one day. Replaced the battery because I've heard of issues like this happening with a week battery. Any ideas??
2007 Kia Spectra Recalls
On vehicles driven in areas where road salt is used, the straps that secure the fuel tank may rust and break. A broken fuel tank strap could allow the fuel tank to drop and contact the ground, which could result in a fuel leak. With any fuel leak, there is always an increased risk of a fire. Dealers will replace the fuel tank straps and attaching hardware with zinc-coated parts. This recall is scheduled to begin during June 2011. The Kia recall number is SC090.
2007 Kia Spectra Reviews
I purchased my 2007 Spectra in August of 2007. I have 118,000 miles on it now and thus far, other than the oil, the only parts I've changed are the thermostat (once), the brakes all around (once), a park light and a headlight. Twice the car didn't start for me in 6 1/2 years, and both times it was because I'd left a light on all night. I don't care that it's not pretty, it has been a blessing t...
Bought this used in June of 2009. I've had it 14 months and it has been great. I drive it everywhere... A lot! Had a problem with the doors locking on their own. Warranty took care of it with no hassles whatsoever. Not a bad little stereo either.
we bought our kia from a rental company with 20k miles....now has 41k with no problems whatsoever. daily driven, freeway miles. just put gas in and go! oil changed every 3k religiously, tires checked every 2 weeks. I was skeptical at first but for the price, it can't be beat. Several friends have Honda Fits and they are amazed by the Kia's power and gas mileage. Thanks KIA!!!!
