Question Answered: Oil Filter Housing Gasket - How Critical - If Leak Small
April 18, 2010, 07:07 AM
I as well had the same problem, I didnt change it cause of the price and the leak just kept getting worse and worse till I finaly had to have it changed it went on for a couple years so I dont think its that critical. you know how mechanics are everything's a big deal cause they want your money! and no you dont need an authorised mechanic just a compitant one, cause they have to take the top half of the motor off, it is a pain in the rear end though, but my guy charged me $150 for that you can do it yourself but it would probably take all day
Question Answered: Fuel Filter
April 18, 2010, 06:56 AM
the fuel filter is about $20 bucks and they'll probably charge you $200 to change it! But this is the easiest thing to change yourself, its underneath the driver side dooron the frame jack your car up and its right their, seriously roll your sleeves up and get in their and do it, you will appreciate your car more! Good Luck

Question Answered: why my car keeps over heating
April 18, 2010, 06:40 AM
did you bleed it thoroughly? It takes a long time to bleed after draining the radiator, you need to take the bleed screw out along with the cap, fill radiator, when its full put radiator cap back on leaving screw out until all bubles are gone. its taken me 30 minutes to totaly bleed my 328i before, I saw my mechanic spend an hour bleeding a 745i before
