Question Answered: Replacement Cost/Info for a Coolant Control Valve?
July 12, 2017, 12:01 PM
Hey Automaticolly925, I found this page on RepairPal's problems section that might be helpful for your issue: Looks like the three-way coolant control valve is damaged and needs replacing. I can see online that the part usually runs around $80, but labor rates can vary depending on where you live. It's worth noting that if you scroll down on that page, someone mentions that the code can sometimes go off when your coolant levels are low in the vehicle (It was also upvoted over 60 times, so I'm guessing others experienced that quick fix). I would double check your coolant levels, maybe add some coolant, and see if that helps out. If not, check out a Certified shop near you to get the valve replaced here: Safe Travels, RepairPal KB What's RepairPal? Question Answered: Can I Use a Magic Eraser on my Car? Will it Damage it?
April 26, 2017, 11:58 AM
Agreed with zippie1 – I found online that although the ingredient in the sponge are pretty normal ingredients, it could still leave scratches and marks on the vehicle. Would definitely not use it on the paint or exterior in general. It might be fine for the interior, but I'd be safe rather than sorry and stick to a microfiber cloth or something similar. Hope this helps!

Question Answered: My daughter owns a 2003 Honda Civic and IMA light is on. Took it to Pacific hond
October 21, 2016, 12:31 PM
Hey molokai, I'm also a 2003 Honda Civic owner (and an extremely happy one, that car is amazing). Mine has over 200,000 miles on it and has no plans on leaving me anytime soon, so I recommend holding onto it. The IMA light should definitely not be ignored, or it can be detrimental to your Civic Hybrid. It just means it's time for those batteries that are saving you gas to be replaced. If the car's been well taken care of and it sounds like it has many miles left on it, it's probably a worthy investment. The fact that they want to buy the car off of you is a bit of a red flag, so I would recommend going to some different shops in Honolulu and comparing prices. Definitely do some research on battery prices – dealerships might run you $4k, but you might be able to find better prices at other places. Those batteries aren't cheap, but they're worth replacing, especially on a Honda. Mahalo! -KB

Question Answered: Is the AC system from a 2003 Jetta compatible with a 2005 Jetta.
October 07, 2016, 10:37 AM
Hey markj61 – I believe it should work, but I'm not 100% positive. There's a reddit feed about interchangeable parts in which one person mentions going to and then going through the flow (Volkswagen > Jetta > 2003 > Engine Info > Air Conditioning) and then if you click the part # displayed, it pops up with the years it works with. I clicked a random A/C compressor and it displays Jettas from 2000-2005. I would check that out for yourself though and make sure it looks correct. Good luck! -KB
Question Answered: where is the EGR valve located?
October 03, 2016, 01:23 PM
Hey phoebegeorgie – the EGR valve is located near the rear of the intake manifold on the driver's side. Some vehicles have very limited access to the EGR valve. You can find more information about the EGR valve here:

Car Review: 2003 Honda Civic
March 27, 2017, 11:03 AM
I purchased my 2003 Honda Civic LX used. It now has over 200,000 miles on it and I'm extremely happy with the car. Honda's are long-term investments – low maintenance costs, low repair costs, and great mileage. I'm beginning to think my Civic will last until the end of time!
