Question Asked: can A arms cause steering wheel vibration on breaking?
February 03, 2011, 09:41 AM
I am haveing problems with the front end shimmying when I break. The mobile machanice I had look at it said I should have my front rotor cut but the a arm bushings had a tear in them. He also said that he could not replace just the bushings but had to replace the entire arm. I just don't want to be hosed. And I don't tend to trust anyone I just met. Help please.
Question Asked: Brake issues and sluggish to start moving
January 07, 2011, 05:54 PM
I've been having an issue with my brakes for months now. I even took it to the dealership to have them test drive and inspect them, and they said everything was fine...clearly not. No matter what speed you're going, or what pressure you apply to the brakes, there's a jarring bumpiness that sounds and feels like the rotor's are shot or something. It's mostly felt in the front, under your feet. There doesn't seem to be any grooves in them and the pads are fine, so I'm looking for some help on what this could be and how much it would cost to fix, before I take it in and they just start ripping things apart. I've also recently started getting a very jumpy, sluggish start off whenever I'm stopped, like at a light or something, and start to move again. It came on very sudden...one day it was fine, the next, this was happening. And it seems to be getting worse. Again, what could this be and how much would it be to fix? Thanks for any help you can provide!
Question Asked: Issue with fan stopping while A/C is on
July 20, 2009, 01:16 AM
Lately I've had a problem with my a/c fan cutting out; stopping all blowing and noise completely; for and instant, then starting back up again and working fine. It doesn't happen all the time, and nothing in particular sets it off. I've been driving along, or idling at a stop light and sometimes it'll happen, sometimes it won't. I'm not sure which catagory it falls under so I was wondering if anyone could be of assistance so I don't have the wrong thing repaired...since there are a lot of unscrupulous people here that will tell you all sorts of things are wrong and need to be fixed, when they actually don't. Thanks!
Question Asked: Check Engine Light/Computer Reprogramming
February 13, 2009, 12:47 PM
I've had issues with my check engine light being on for some time now. I was told it was the oxygen sensors, had them replaced, and it still came back on. The car runs fine except for when it's stopped at a light or something, idling, there's a studdering/hiccupping thing that happens and it gets worse when the air/heat is on. I just took it in again and was told the computer needed to be reprogrammed and that would solve the problem. Of course, it's gonna cost $1150.00 to do. Am I getting ripped off, yet again? What should I do and how much should this type of thing cost?
