Jaguar XJ Recalls

Reduced Braking Efficiency

The brake system uses fluid in hydraulic lines to operate the brake on each individual wheel. These vehicles are being recalled because junctions of these fluid lines could develop leaks. Loss of brake fluid can reduce braking efficiency, increasing the risk of a crash or personal injury. Dealers will inspect the affected brake line junctions and tighten them as necessary to correct this concern.

Improper Software Installed For Safety Restraints Module

The software for the restraints control module (RCM) may be faulty. This could cause parts of the restraint system to not work as designed. Dealers will upload new software for the RCM free of charge to resolve the problem.

Potential Loss of Vehicle Control

297 vehicles are being recalled because one or both rear tow adjustment links may come loose from the rear sub-frame. These adjustment links are used to help control rear wheel alignment. If a tow link were to come loose a loss of directional control could result, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the nut and washer assembly on the rear toe links to correct this concern.

Jaguar XJ Reviews

I bought the car new. Now about 18 months of ownership without any problems. Great interstate cruiser. Mine has the 5.0 liter V8 with ZF 8 speed trans. Routinely get 30-31 mpg on the highway. I would definitely consider another XJ in the future.
