OBD-II Code Transmission may not shift properly is defined as a Multiple Gears Engaged

The automatic transmission matches the engine optimum power and torque characteristics to the driver's desired rate of acceleration and speed by auto-selecting different gear ratios or 'speeds' to power the wheels. When the Transmission control module (TCM) detects multiple gears are engaged at the same time, it will send a message to the engine computer (PCM) to set code P0893.
