What Does P0339 Code Mean?

OBD-II Code P0339 is defined as a Crankshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit Intermittent

The Crankshaft Position Sensor measures the exact rotational speed and position of the crankshaft. This provides a critical data signal used by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to control Ignition Spark Timing and Fuel Delivery. This sensor may be built into the distributor on older vehicles. When the PCM detects an irregular signal or no signal, it will set code P0339.
