i recently replaced my transmission, and my car was running ok, then on my way home my car just cut off. I feel like you may have some wiring issue related to the switch that tells what gear your lever is in. Either a connector that is not fully seated or a pinched wire from the transmission installation. Recheck the installation and all the switches and wiring first.
