Infiniti M45 Repair and Maintenance

A guide to problems, costs, maintenance and repair for your Infiniti M45

Infiniti M45 Problems

The crankshaft angle sensor or the camshaft position sensor can fail and cause loss of engine power, an engine that cuts out, and other drivability problems. This will cause the Check Engine Light to illuminate. Certain models have been involved in a recall to replace the camshaft and crankshaft sensors. Infiniti M45 Recalls

On nearly all cars on the road today the engine idle speed is computer controlled. These vehicles are being recalled because the idle may be to low as a result of a sensor failure causing the computer to operate in the fail-safe (limp home) mode. In the limp home mode, the computer will not properly adjust for variations in the engine idle speed. As a result the engine can stall unexpectedly at idle or when coming to a stop. The sensor causing this concern is the accelerator pedal position sensor. Dealers will replace the accelerator pedal assembly and reprogram the engine control module to correct this concern.

Due to a circuit board failure, the fuel gauge may indicate a fuel level higher than what actually exists. As a result, the vehicle may run out of gas without warning, causing the vehicle to stall, which can cause a crash. Dealers will modify the affected circuit board to correct this concern.

Nissan is recalling certain 2008–2010 model year vehicles in areas of the country with heavy concentrations of road salt usage. The fastener used to secure the sensor of the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) may corrode and crack. If this occurs, the fastener may detach from the sensor and the TPMS light will illuminate. Dealers will replace the fastener with a more robust fastener.

Infiniti M45 Reviews

Luxury meets sports car. V8 power and all the Bel and whistles to go along with it

I own the M45 Sport. I love it. No major problems. Still runs well. The interior is showing to show little signs of wear and tear. I plan on keeping it at least 4 more years.

LOVE this car... brake rotors warped (improper lug nut tightening or heat?) but replaced them with drilled rotors and have had no other issues. Only repair in seven years and 75k miles has been an EGR sensor. Looking at suspension maintenance soon, and wishing there were more aftermarket upgrades around for this model.
