I have owned 5 BMW (1981,1982,1994,2001 & now 2006 750li) the 750 is the only one I've have major problems with. (transmission replace). I have always own 2 at a time, one for me & one for the wife. I love the 750 which we use on longer trips for the most part. But these repeated problems are a pain.
