Question Asked: Transmission or Brake Issue?? 32K miles on Vehicle
December 11, 2011, 05:58 PM
When the engine is cold and I start driving then slow down between 3rd and 2nd gear my car seems to hiccup and then slow down. It only does it until my car gets warm then seems to go away. I just want to make sure it is not harming my transmission or brakes. When I switch my car to auto-manual and hand downshift it myself it does not seem to do it. I cannot tell if it is my brakes or my transmission downshifting rough. This just started when the weather got colder.
Question Asked: High Pitched Squeak/Sqeal
February 05, 2011, 10:55 AM
When I start my car I have a high pitch squeal coming from the belt area in the front of my car. I just changed the Alternator cause I thought it was that...Still sqeals. I checked the serpentine belt and its still in 90% great condition. I have narrowed it down to either the belt tentioner or the A/C unit. Anyone have a way I could tell if it was one or the other?? The squeal is so loud i cant tell which one it is coming from.
Question Answered: is it my battery or alternator

sounds like an alternator. Make sure you change the battery with the new alternator as it is probably dead because of the alternator going bad.
Question Answered: what does it mean when the TCS light comes on periodically.

That is the Traction Control System. It is your car trying to balance itself out. Do you hear the noise normally when you are slipping on snow or ice? If it happens all the time during normal driving conditions you should get it checked out... it may be malfunctioning.
Question Answered: what does it mean when my car putt putt? Or skips?

Are you using Premium Fuel? This car only takes 91 Octane or higher... it sounds like you might be getting engine knock from using a cheap fuel. Start filling it with the premium fuel at the gas station and if it hasnt fixed itself in 1 or 2 fill ups call the repair shop.

Car Review: 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
February 21, 2011, 06:52 PM
I have a 2007 1500 new style body. I have had it for 2years and there are 45k miles on it. I have had no problems. I would recommend it to anyone. I am about to trade it in though because I drive a lot for my job and I have to have something with better MPG. I will miss it though :(
