Look to the left directly under the driver side left AC vent you will see a dial. Turn it to the left or right to totally remove the courtesy light and dim the dash light. That's the only way i know you can remove the annoying light

Yes it can but you'll need a good scan tool that can do component testing and the vehicle workshop manual or access to Alldata to know the values you should be getting from your test.
