Question Asked: Are Toyota Sienna disc back brakes as easy to change as Toyota Corolla brakes?
July 17, 2012, 10:24 AM
I am a backyard mechanic and have changed the pads/rotors on many Corolla/Prizm/Vibe cars. I have never done back brakes, however. Our Sienna disc back brakes are grinding and I was wondering if there is anything different about the back brakes. I owned a Fiero and there was a special tool needed to change them mainly because of the E-brake. Any tips?
Question Asked: What is the cheapest route to get a replacement key?
June 19, 2012, 04:15 AM
We only received one key when we got the van from a dealer. I guess we should have pressed them for a spare. They wanted over $100 for a new key. I am quite disgruntled about the entire thing. How does making a smarter key help me with security?
Question Asked: Cruise Control flickering and shutting off
September 02, 2009, 08:23 PM
Occasionally the cruise control on my Vibe shuts off. When it shuts off, the "Cruise" light flickers off. Sometimes it works fine. When it shuts off, I can reset it to speed, but it usually shuts off again soon after. I have shut the cruise off and then turned it back on (kind of a reboot) but that doesn't seem to help. Most of the time it works flawlessly...
Question Answered: My 2009 pontiac vibe turn signals do not work in heat

My cruise control has the same symptoms. It will work in the winter unless I warm up the interior. Then it starts kicking out of cruise. In the summer it just doesn't work. I think it has something to do with the heat under the dashboard...

Mind did this as well. Just recently it did it much louder, then popped, and hasn't done it since! The window still works great...

Car Review: 2003 Pontiac Vibe
October 10, 2009, 06:38 AM
This is my second Vibe. I needed a car to get back and forth to work. It runs great. I have no complaints about how it handles and such. I had to get the Front windows fixed (there is a free recall). Also, the fit and finish is not as nice as our 2006 Vibe. It looks like it was the first one off the assembly line. It has 110,000 miles on it, so some things, I am sure, have been abused. The hatch window does not open. All in all, a good car. Oh yea, and the car came with the roof rack complete! Apparently they saved money after 2003 and made you buy it separate.

This is a great car. The interior has degraded since 1995 (I have one of those also). We have had the clutch replaced once and it is now grabby. We have a 5 spd and get around 32 mpg.

This has been an excellent car. I bought it at 130,000 miles and it now has 210,000. Only front wheel bearings have gone bad. The interior is much better than the new ones.
Car Review: 2006 Pontiac Vibe

This is a great, reliable car for the money. We have the 1.8 litre engine and get 32-35 mpg although it doesn't have much power. A good trade for us. The only disappointment has been the lack of the roof rack cross members. GM is charging $140 for something that should have come with the car!
