Transmission Pan Gasket

The automatic transmission pan gasket is the mechanical seal between the transmission and the transmission oil pan.

Symptoms of a Bad or Failing Transmission Pan Gasket

  • Transmission fluid leak
  • Illumination of the Check Engine Light
  • The transmission gasket should be inspected and replaced as necessary whenever the transmission pan is removed
  • Some transmissions have a "reusable" pan gasket; these gaskets still require inspection when removed and should be replaced if damaged
