A relay is a device that allows a relatively small electrical current to control a larger current.

Symptoms of a Bad or Failing Relay

  • Components controlled by the relay will not turn on or off as desired

Relay Related Repair Advice

  • A relay is commonly controlled by a manual switch or a computer. All electrical inputs to a relay should be checked for proper operation before the relay is replaced.
  • Using the incorrect relay on a computer controlled circuit may result in failure of the computer
