An engine oil leak may develop from the oil level sensor. Replacement of the leaking sensor will commonly correct this concern.

Cruise Control May Not Disengage as Expected

It has been determined that, under certain circumstances, use of the brake pedal may not disengage the cruise control as expected. All other means of disengaging the cruise control should remain effective. If the driver were to "pump" the brake pedal instead of applying consistent force, the level of force necessary to disengage the cruise control may be unusually high. Dealers will perform the repairs necessary to correct this concern. The recall is expected to begin September of 2011.

Incorrect Software Calibration May Cause Fuel Pump to Remain Powered in a Collision

There is a faulty software calibration that affects several areas including shutting off the fuel supply in a collision. This could cause a fire hazard during an accident. Dealers will reprogram this software. The Mercedes-Benz recall number is 2008 070001. This recall began during August, 2008.

Do not buy this car. Research ML500 and problems on google. You will be glad you did.
I truly enjoy driving this car. It's quite powerful, compared to the Volvo S80 I previously owned. The only things I can complain about are the breaks which make a hell lot of a noise. I tried cleaning them and replacing the pads. It did not help. I even smoothed out the discs (which you're not really supposed to do because they are composite discs) and still no help.
