Ignition Coil Boot

The ignition coil boot insulates the high voltage spark of the coil from the engine.

The ignition coil boot is made up of a 4- to 6-inch electrically insulating rubber boot containing an electrical contact spring. In a "coil over" ignition system, this connects the secondary coil terminal to the center electrode of a spark plug.
