Symptoms of a Bad or Failing Drive Belt Tensioner Pulley

  • Grinding, growling, or squeaking type noise from drive belt area
  • The drive belt will not stay on
  • The tensioner idler pulley should always be inspected when the drive belt or the tensioner is replaced
  • In some cases, the tensioner pulley can be replaced separately from the tensioner
