Circuit Breaker

By Andy Y, January 22, 2009

A Circuit Breaker is a Circuit Protection device that is uses a bimetallic strip to bridge a circuit.

When the current in the circuit reaches a predetermined level, the bimetallic strips heats up and bends, which disconnects the circuit and protects it from being damaged from over heating.  Over time the strip will cool down, become straight and reconnect the circuit.
