ABS Pump

The anti-lock brake system (ABS) pump provides supplemental brake fluid pressure (in addition to the pressure created when the driver applies the brakes) necessary to operate the ABS system.

Symptoms of a Bad or Failing ABS Pump

  • Illumination of the ABS warning light

    - The ABS pump is commonly part of the hydraulic valve assembly
- On many newer vehicles, the valve assembly can be replaced separately from the ABS control module
