OBD-II Code Decreased engine performance is defined as a Torque Converter Temperature Too High

The Torque Converter mechanically locks the engine to the transmission. Transmission Control Module (TCM) monitors the torque converter clutch for slippage. If the TCM detects that the torque converter is slipping, code P2783 will be set.

  • Decreased engine performance
  • Engine may enter limp home mode (reduced performance)
