What Does P2261 Code Mean?

OBD-II Code P2261 is defined as a Turbocharger/Supercharger Bypass Valve - Mechanical

The Turbo/Supercharger bypass valve diverts remaining boost out the exhaust when the driver lets off the accelerator pedal. When the vehicle's control module (PCM) detects an incorrect signal from the sensor, the PCM will set code P2261.This may send the vehicle into "limp home mode", limiting the amount of power out of the engine, to protect other components from being damaged.

P2261 Symptoms

  • Lack of boost from the turbo/supercharger
