OBD-II Code Decreased engine performance is defined as a Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit Intermittent/Erratic
The Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor measures the temperature of the coolant going through the engine. If the engine's control module (PCM) detects an electrical fault in the Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit, the PCM will set code P2186.
