OBD-II Code Decreased engine performance is defined as a "B" Camshaft Position Actuator Control Circuit High
Newer vehicle's use a variable timing system to adjust the timing of the camshaft in relation to the crankshaft to increase fuel efficiency and performance. As the camshaft rotates, the exhaust valves are opened and closed. The PCM uses oil pressure to advance or retard the camshaft timing, changing when the valves will open and close. If the Camshaft does not adjust as commanded, the PCM will set code P2091.
