OBD-II Code Tap shifting will be disabled is defined as a Up and Down Shift Switch to Transmission Range Correlation
Some vehicles equipped with automatic transmission will give the driver the option of selecting the desired gear while driving, known as TAP Shifting. The shifter will usually either have a + ahd - button on it, or shift side to side when in Drive. If the engine computer (PCM) does not see a match between the gear selected and the gear the transmission is in, code P0819 will set and the TAP Shift function will be disabled.
