OBD-II Code Cruise control will not operate is defined as a Cruise Control Multi-Function Input "B" Circuit

The Cruise Control System uses several input switches (i.e. Coast and Accelerate) If the engine computer (PCM) sees a signal from more than one switch at a time, code P0589 will set and the cruise control system will be disabled.
