Bought New 8/1999. Hood not alligned. Cheap plastic inside. Loose/misalligned handle etc. Brakes make noise. ABS locks 1-2 wheels or increases braking distance. Trans slips and is rough shifting, also downshifts 2nd to 1st at too high an RPM for 2 seconds when gas pedal is pressed hard. Top center brake lights burn out repeatedly. Dash lights go out in some locations. Engine is noisy outside! Windows up help keep the noise out, but it will attract everyones attention, they think you are speeding/racing. Overall (after 115,000 miles), I like the car and the little issues above have not stopped me from having fun. It drives like a dream, corners well, comfortable (90%). The first big expense was the Mass Air Flow Sensor (trans shifting changed to sport/race mode) $400. It was under extended Saturn Service contract for 60,000 miles. Have replaced brakes in front & tires, etc. I love the car. Paint still in excellent shape.
