A ticking noise may be noted from the engine valve train area. This is commonly caused by varnish build up in the hydraulic lash adjusters (HLA). Our technicians tell us that using Mobil 1 synthetic oil has been successful in cleaning the varnish deposits and quieting the lifter noise.

Chattering when cornering can occur when the limited slip differential fluid breaks down. Replacing the fluid will repair this issue.

On the V-6 engine, oil in the spark plug tubes can cause a misfire. Resealing the tubes as part of replacement of the valve cover gasket and replacing the spark plug wires will commonly repair this issue. On newer models the misfire can result in illumination of the Check Engine Light.

On certain models the door checks can contact  the door wiring harness and damage the wires causing blown fusees and no sound from the door speakers. Repairing the wires or replacing the harness and routing it away from the door checkers will repair this issue.

ON 4WD vehicles faulty vacuum solenoid valves can cause the four wheel drive light to stay on all the time. Replacing the valves and possibly the wire harness is needed for this repair.

On certain 2WD models the front hub can leak grease. Installing a new updated gasket will repair the leak.

Fuel injector "leakdown" can cause a long crank time after the engine is warmed up. The fuel injectors need to be replaced to address this problem.

Varnish build up in the engine can cause one or more hydraulic lash adjusters to stick and cause a ticking noise in the engine. The noisy hydraulic lifter will need to be located and cleaned to stop the noise.
