Limited slip differential fluid break down may cause chattering when cornering
Varnish buildup in engine may cause ticking noise
Varnish build up in the engine can cause one or more hydraulic lash adjusters to stick and cause a ticking noise in the engine. The noisy hydraulic lifter will need to be located and cleaned to stop the noise.
Dry suspension components may cause spring-type pop when it moves
Dry suspension components can cause a spring-type pop when it moves. Lubricating the suspension will stop the noise.
Oil in Spark Plug Tubes May Cause Misfire
On the V-6 engine, oil in the spark plug tubes can cause a misfire. Resealing the tubes as part of replacement of the valve cover gasket and replacing the spark plug wires will commonly repair this issue. On newer models the misfire can result in illumination of the Check Engine Light.
Fuel injector "leakdown" may cause long crank time
Fuel injector "leakdown" can cause a long crank time after the engine is warmed up. The fuel injectors need to be replaced to address this problem.
Faulty vacuum solenoid may cause 4WD light to stay on
ON 4WD vehicles faulty vacuum solenoid valves can cause the four wheel drive light to stay on all the time. Replacing the valves and possibly the wire harness is needed for this repair.
Wiring damaged by door checker
On certain models the door checkers can contact the door wiring harness and damage the wires causing blown fusees and no sound from the door speakers. Repairing the wires or replacing the harness and routing it away from the door checkers will repair this issue.
