A leaking axle shaft seal and / or PTU cover seal can cause transmission (red) or Power Transfer Unit (PTU) (brown) fluid leaks at the axle area. The axle shaft seal and / or PTU cover seal may be leaking and should be replaced as required.

Adhesive for foam blocks in the headliner can fail leading to poor fitment of the headliner and a possible rattle around the sunroof area. The foam blocks attach the headliner to the mounting brackets. Access the headliner and re-secure the foam blocks to the brackets using cable ties / zip ties.

Had the PTU replaced at around 120K after a 2month wait for the part. It cost about 1,800.00!! Here I am with 145K and the PTU is on its way out AGAIN. Two units in 2 years. Visiting Honda dealers this weekend. Never ever will I buy another Ford. The dealers are not very helpful and act like they are surprised at the problem. Ford will not help at all. I had a Honda years ago and not one problem with it. I can't wait to get rid of the Edge.

The "Sync" wireless phone system may randomly loose "pairing" with the phone in use. This concern has been addressed with a software update which should be available from any Ford dealership service center at no charge.
