Cabriolet Convertible Top Mechanism May Fail Due to Hydraulic Fluid Leaks
The Cabriolet convertible top mechanism can fail due to hydraulic fluid leaks. The fluid reservoir is a common failure.
Engine Oil leak From Valley Pan Gasket and/or Head Gasket
An External oil leak may develop from the valley pan gasket (under the intake manifold) and/or the head gasket.
Inspection of Water Pump and Timing Belt
The water pump may fail resulting in engine overheating and possible timing belt damage. Overheating and/or timing belt failure can result in very expensive engine repairs. As a precaution, it is recommended to inspect the timing belt and water pump at regular intervals.
Abnormal Noise From Suspension
Various bushings—located around the subframe, suspension, and steering—deteriorate with age. A clunking noise when driving over bumps, accelerating, or stopping may be a sign of worn bushings.
