Rear Suspension Arms Loosen And Fail

The rear tie rod adjusting lock nuts may not have been properly tightened after servicing. The rear arms may loosen and fail as a result. Dealers will replace both rear suspension arms and encapsulate the lock nuts free of charge to resolve the concern.

Potential Rear Suspension Failure

If the nuts for adjusting the rear wheel alignment are improperly tightened during service, the rear tire rod may develop unwanted movement and rust, leading to thread damage and eventual failure. Failure of the rear tie rod could cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect the tie rods and replace any that have rust or corrosion on the alignment adjustment threads. All rear tie rods will then be encased in an epoxy to prevent future environmental damage.

The Brakes May Not Perform as Expected

The brake booster pump contains a compartment filled with nitrogen gas. This nitrogen gas can leak into the brake fluid causing reduced hydraulic pressure during application of the brakes. Reduced braking efficiency can increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the brake booster pump assembly as necessary to correct this concern.
