The crankshaft angle sensor or the camshaft position sensor can fail and cause loss of engine power, an engine that cuts out, and other drivability problems. This will cause the Check Engine Light to illuminate. Certain models have been involved in a recall to replace the camshaft and crankshaft sensors. For more information on this rec...

Infiniti M45 Recalls (Recent)

Drive Train, September 26, 2013

RepairPal Expert Overview:

On nearly all cars on the road today the engine idle speed is computer controlled. These vehicles are being recalled because the idle may be to low as a result of a sensor failure causing the computer to operate in the fail-safe (limp home) mode. In the limp home mode, the computer will not properly adjust for variations in the engine idle speed. As a result the engine can stall unexpectedly at idle or when coming to a stop. The sensor causing this concern is the accelerator pedal position sensor. Dealers will replace the accelerator pedal assembly and reprogram the engine control module to correct this concern.

Electrical & Lights, November 9, 2009

RepairPal Expert Overview:

Nissan is recalling certain 2008–2010 model year vehicles in areas of the country with heavy concentrations of road salt usage. The fastener used to secure the sensor of the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) may corrode and crack. If this occurs, the fastener may detach from the sensor and the TPMS light will illuminate. Dealers will replace the fastener with a more robust fastener.

The circuit board for the crank position sensor and cam position sensor may have improper solder joints. This could cause the Service Engine Soon lamp to come on, the engine may not start, you could experience reduced power, or the engine may stall without warning, which could result in a crash. Dealers will replace the the crank position sensor, cam position sensors, and in some cases, the variable timing control sensors. The recall began on December 22, 2003. Luxury meets sports car. V8 power and all the Bel and whistles to go along with it

LOVE this car... brake rotors warped (improper lug nut tightening or heat?) but replaced them with drilled rotors and have had no other issues. Only repair in seven years and 75k miles has been an EGR sensor. Looking at suspension maintenance soon, and wishing there were more aftermarket upgrades around for this model.

Excellent luxury performance ride. Really happy with interior/exterior appearance and styling. Dash gauges perform as idiot lights which is diappointing. Engine from the factory has had a weak lifter which begins to make noise and gets worse as the oil gets down to the bottom dot on the oil dip stick. This is how I know I am getting low on oil. At no time has an the oil light on the dash ever come on to indicate low pressure even when the oil is below the dip sticks range for adequate engine oil level and the lifter is making lots of noise. I change synthetic oil & filter every 3500 to 5000 miles. The motor has always used 1+ quarts between oil changes. This summer with freeway travel at 80mph in 100-105 degrees I have used 3 quarts of oil in 3,600 miles. So far this does not present an issue for the service writers.

Also the tire pressure monitoring system did not work properly from the factory and another dealer finally replaced the module and now it works fine.

The right front passenger seat is not the same level of comfornt and it has minimum electric seat features compared to the driver's seat.

I expected more from inifinti but I remain happy with my M45.
