Audi S6 ProblemsBushings May Deteriorate With Age and Cause Noise
Various bushings—located around the subframe, suspension, and steering—deteriorate with age. A clunking noise when driving over bumps, accelerating, or stopping may be a sign of worn bushings.
Clogged drains can allow rainwater to accumulate in the plenum tray (at the base of the windshield). Audi S6 RecallsPotential Fuel Leak
Certain vehicles equipped with 4.0L engine are being recalled because a fuel leak could develop. Manufacturing tolerances on one of the fuel lines can result in leakage. Dealers will replace the affected fuel line to correct this concern.
The aging of the plastic material in the fuel tank rollover valve, combined with stress from the aluminum ventilation line attached to it, may lead to cracking of the connection nipple. The cracked nipple could leak fuel, increasing the risk of a fire. Dealers will reinforce the nipple on the rollover valve or repair the cracking as necessary. This recall is expected to begin during June 2011. The Audi recall number is 20L8/JY.
