Check valve clearance
Valve clearances for this engine are shim adjusted and should be checked periodically to help maximize engine life. Another good time to check the valve clearances is when the valve cover gasket is being replaced.

Engine won't crank due to starter relay failure
The engine may not crank when the key is turned to "start" if the starter relay fails. This can be confused with a defective starter motor.
