Transmission Control Software Update Available
A shift "lag" may be noted when accelerating from speeds of 10 to 20 mph. A software update for the transmission control module has been released which may correct this concern. Software updates are commonly most effective on newer vehicles. Higher mileage vehicles may exhibit a similar symptom caused by a component failure. However, whenever major transmission repairs are performed the transmission software should be checked and updated as necessary.
Airbag Warning Light With Code B0111 and/or B0116
The supplemental restraints system (SRS) warning light may illuminate with code B0111 and/or B0116. Our technicians tell us Lexus has several service bulletins regarding the SRS system. It is not uncommon to replace one or more airbags to correct these fault codes.
Check Engine Light With Codes P0440, P0441, P0442, or P0446
The Check Engine Light may illuminate with various EVAP system fault codes stored. Our technicians tell us this may be caused by a sticking EVAP Purge Vacuum Switching valve. An improved valve is now available to remedy this problem.
Sofrware Upgrade For GPS, Radio, and Heater Operation
Various user interface issues regarding GPS, radio system, and heater controls, along with bluetooth operation have been addressed with a software upgrade. Our technicians recommend that if you have issues with these systems, checking for the latest software should be the first step in diagnoses.
Heating/AC and Clock Drops off-line
The problem is - GPS (Nav) console and the cost: New - $6,000, Rebuilt - 1700. If your GPS goes blank that is your problem. The reason the heating/AC and clock also drops off-line is Lexus designed a single-point-failure. Because you can adjust the heat/AC and the clock using the GPS touch screen, the GPS fails the rest fails.
