2007 Audi Q7 Problems
Check Engine Light and Engine Misfire
An engine misfire may be noted after cold start resulting in illumination of the Check Engine Light. Our technicians tell us updated powertrain control module (PCM) software is available to correct this concern.
Check Engine Light Due to Knock Sensor Fault
The Check Engine Light may illuminate with a knock sensor code stored. Our technicians tell us a revised knock sensor and bracket should be installed, along with heat shielding material to protect the new sensor, to correct this condition.
Uneven ride height due to faulty residual pressure holding valve
Uneven ride height and/or tilting of the vehicle may be caused by one or more stuck closed residual pressure holding valves. A service bulletin from Audi describes how to properly test these valves. Any valve failing this functional test should be replaced.
Brake Pedal Pulsation
A brake pedal pulsation may develop, most commonly the front brakes are at fault. Just to be sure, our technicians recommend that both front and rear rotors be inspected. Brake pads and rotors should be replaced as necessary to correct this issue.
Noise and/or handling issues from worn bushings and/or mounts
Various steering, suspension, and sub-frame bushings and mounts can deteriorate over time resulting in noise and/or handling issues. Our technicians recommend periodic inspection of these components and replacement as necessary.
Cracking cv boots and/or cv joint noise
Axle constant velocity (CV) boots may crack and leak, resulting a lack of lubrication and damage to the CV joint. Our technicians recommend to replace damaged CV boots at the first sign of cracking. If noise is noted from the CV joint the axle may require replacement.
