Cadillac Escalade ESV Problems
Most of the time I face the problem in reading cd or DVD and shows disk error after showing disk check in progress for about 2 minutes - the same CD works some times if I eject and loan many times. Can any one provide a solution. Nothing wrong with the CD/DVD as it works in other CD players without any issue.
Sudden catastrophic engine failure at 42,000 miles. Vehicle was towed in. Broken valve spring led to bent valve and $ 3,000.00 repair. Not covered under warranty, of course, due to age of vehicle. I expect more from GM's top-of-the-line. I won't buy another.

2007 Escalade - engine doesn't shutoff when I remove key from ignition switch
Pulled the fuel pump fuse #20 to stop then disconnected the battery.
Several times earlier today the ignition key had to be wiggled to move to the start position to start the car but but most other times I do not...
Took off from a stop sign felt like it shifted to neutral. Had to manually shift to get it home and at every stop have to start in first. Any ideas?
Cadillac Escalade ESV Recalls
All late model vehicles are equipped with a "Shift interlock" system that prevents vehicles with and automatic transmission from being shifted out of the Park position under certain conditions. Some of these vehicles are being recalled because they may have been assembled with a broken park lock cable or a malformed steering column lock actuator gear. Failure of these components can allow the shifter to be moved out of the Park position with the ignition key removed or in the off position. This can cause the vehicle to roll away unexpectedly increasing the risk of injury or a crash. Dealers will inspect the recalled vehicles and replace the steering column as necessary.
The intermediate steering shaft attaching bolts may not have been tightened to the proper specification. This could allow the steering shaft to separate. The driver could experience a loss of steering ability, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect and ensure the intermediate steering shaft bolts are tightened to the proper specification. This recall is expected to begin on July 13, 2011. The General Motors recall number is 11191.
The rear axle cross pin may break. The cross pin is an internal component of the rear differential, which is housed in the rear axle assembly. If the cross pin breaks, the rear axle may lock, which could result in loss of control and a crash. Dealers will install a new rear axle cross pin to correct this concern. This recall should begin no later than January 25, 2011. The General Motors number for this recall is 10426A.

When it gets cold the battery quits cranking the car have replaced the battery 2 times have also checked the altanator every thing checked ok .What ckuld it be?
We have lived in Mexico ever since buying our ESV in July 2006. 95% of the gasoline burned has been PEMEX, Mexican gas. Almost of the service performed has been at a local Mexican garage. At 30,000 miles I started using "Mobile 1" for engine oil. The ESV has 128,000 miles. What a great vehicle. Most expensive repair was the replacing of the rear shocks. We not had any out of the ordinary...
